While the Installation Assistant is an entry-level role, it plays a vital part in team success and is ideal for detail-oriented, proactive, and motivated individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in installing racking systems, solar panels, and attachments under supervision.
  • Navigate rooftops and use ladders, safety harnesses, and PPE safely.
  • Carry materials and tools safely to and from job sites.
  • Set up and maintain safety perimeters at job sites.
  • Perform site preparation, cleanup, and maintain vehicle organization and cleanliness.
  • Operate and maintain basic tools safely and proficiently, including drills and torque wrenches.
  • Attach rails, manage wiring, and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Follow training protocols for Snap-n-Rack and Enphase systems.
  • Drive company vehicles responsibly, adhering to safety requirements.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment and uphold PPM Solar’s values and standards.

 

Qualifications

  • Strong teamwork and positive attitude
  • Adhere to company standards and willingness to follow instructions from leadership
  • Alignment with PPM Solar’s values and mission to promote renewable energy.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work safely on ladders, rooftops, and elevated surfaces.
  • Adherence to non-smoking protocol and dress code policy
  • Experience with basic hand tools; proficiency with drills and torque wrenches preferred.
  • Strong focus on safety and proper use of PPE, tools, and equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet driving safety clearance requirements.
  • Physical stamina and comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions.

 

Compensation

The compensation range for this position is $15-$18 per hour, based on experience. This position is full-time (40 hours a week). Compensation will be reassessed based on performance after the first 90 days. We provide a clear path to becoming a solar technician with a pay increase within a year. The long-term career path provides a clear track to grow to the Lead Installer and beyond.
